I like that the The room is big with kitchenette and the hot breakfast included is a bonus. Carole in the breakfast room is awesome. There were stains on carpet in some areas of the hotel that needs deep cleaning. But over all it was a decent place to stay. And is walkable to-the queen Elizabeth promenade going to the Matteo Sutton park and the downtown's waterfront .

Nanaimo Downtown Ramada

Large rooms, good value

Hotel a little dated but good value. Breakfast included was a bonus. The lady I think her name was Colleen/Carole did an amazing job with the breakfast preparation as she was very busy with a full occupancy! She always had a smile on her face. Rooms are large, beds were comfortable, wifi was good and water was hot. We had two burnt out lights in our room, one in the bathroom and the other over a bed, let the front desk know each morning, but they never got replaced. We gave up after the 3rd morning! We would stay here again if the price was right, we really did not hang out at the hotel as we were in the area for a family function.

First of all, the room was not cleaned when we checked in. There are still leftover garbage in the room (i.e. half bottle coke, leftover foods from last stay). Secondly, they didn't clean the room properly or change towels during the stays. They also charged us a large costs after we left; only because the room was not clean when we left.... (i.e. towels are dirty (well of course, you didn't replace them during our stay), there are sands in the room (of course, why you think we go to Nanaimo)... Very old and dated hotel. Avoid at all costs. We should have believed the low rating on google.

Overall i like the location of this hotel, very convinient if you will visit tofino and victoria island, as this is in center And I appreciate the breakfast pantry lady, who relentlessly was serving each and everyone all by herself. Thank you to her. On the other hand, from 3rd floor rolm of my hotel a stink was coming all over, looked like a greay water leak. I could not stand on the patio

The lobby stinks. Very very old dirty carpet as well as in the elevator. Not a good first impression. The room itself was somewhat better, tho the carpet def should be replaced. Bed was comfortable enough. A very hard working, pleasant lady worked in the breakfast buffet which had a decent spread of food. Besides the initial bad smell, place was decent.
