Pet friendly, great staff, restaurant on site. Convenient location, great views from most of rooms. I have stayed here multiple times and recommended to friends. Check in is at 4:00pm but my room has never been ready at 4:00. Frustrating. Fridge in room usually doesn’t cool so plan ahead. If you want a nice view you will pay a small fortune for the room. There are much less expensive rooms so the choice is yours. Overall I always enjoy my stay and love walking around the grounds and on the beach,

We love this place for its rustic charm and location. Nothing fancy about it but it’s comfortable with extra touches such as fireplaces and beautiful grounds. Rooms a bit dated and could use a bit of an overhaul…but it works for us. Stayed here several times and the staff are great!!

The inn rooms need a little updating. The bathroom needs major renovating with a quieter toilet flush. However, my experience on the hotel grounds was great. The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff were very attentive and put effort into giving their guests the best experience.

Everything excellent, with exception of the lawn, grass is dead, really would’ve been a great to see it green like the profile pictures. Dogs barking early in the morning, guest’s issues not hotel.

The room is comfortable and the room was clean. The view is worth every penny. The inside fireplace with comfiest of chairs to enjoy it were the kicker. Semi private beach access to whale watch and watch the sunset. Ill stay here time and again

Staff goes above and beyond here. Wonderful customer service. Thin walls and uncomfortable beds. Water pressure also lacking. Restaurant food quality was great and again staff is very helpful. Cavalier is a solid no frills hotel for a one night stay to see Hearst castle with the kids.
