The water pressure for showers was great. The room was clean and quiet. The hill view wasn't great, but we spent more time outside looking at the beautiful views than looking out the hotel window. Pillows were soft and the bed comfortable, but it seemed like the sheets may not have been the right size. The fireplace (uses gas) really did add to the feel of the room.
Didn't get a chance to try out the pool, but it looked good and was heated. I enjoyed all the art around the hotel that was from Hearst Castle. The breakfast in the morning was basic, but good.
There are a few restaurants within walking distance, but Cambria is also a short drive for more options. Hearst Castle is also close by, which was our main goal for the trip. We got a chance to see the zebras in the field close to the hotel, so that was a lot of fun.
There is beach access just a short walk from the hotel, which was nice. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Overall, you could tell it was an older hotel, but I would recommend.
