We had a beautiful room with corner windows and a view of the water on the third floor. The breakfast was amazing each day with a large variety of fresh food to choose from. The staff was very helpful and accommodating with a few things that we requested. The location is great and easy walking everywhere. It was nice to have an elevator for our luggage. I would definitely stay again.

Charming Location, But Not the Most Comfortable St

The hotel is undeniably pretty and located in a charming area, which made exploring the neighborhood very enjoyable. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired. It was extremely small, and the bathroom setup was quite awkward — the shower was essentially just a tiled section next to the toilet with a curtain separating the two. When not in use, the curtain actually rested on the toilet, which felt far from ideal. My boyfriend and I are both over 6 feet tall and felt very cramped in some areas with the low ceilings and archways. We were placed in a first-floor room, which unfortunately meant a lot of noise. Every morning around 6 a.m., we were woken up by garbage trucks or street sweepers, and pedestrian noise continued throughout the day and night. To make matters worse, our room was right next to the elevator, so we heard it (and other guests using it) at all hours of the night. While the location and aesthetic have potential, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re looking for peace and quiet or a more spacious and comfortable room.

This was my favorite hotel of our trip! We asked for and got a room facing the water and had a beautiful view. Our room was decorated with regal style drapes and felt luxurious. The breakfast was excellent and had lots of choices for varied diets. The staff was great too!

Comfortable and well located but pretty dated and dingy. Not what I would expect from a Hotel in this price point, definitely doesn’t have a luxury vibe, feels like it hasn’t been renovated since the 90s. Breakfast was decent.

Good location but not all good

The hotel is in a very good location, and the breakfast is very good, the bed is decent and it's clean but the shower pressure is bad. The lack of air-conditioning made the room very hot and as our room was out to the front, the road noise during the night (with open windows) made it difficult to sleep. There is a lack of attention to small details. Stuff you normally would not even question i.e no glasses in the bathroom for the toothbrush, not enough room to hang your towel, no water provided. It's a shame as the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is overpriced (in my opinion )

The location is the highlight. The room sizes are great. But this hotel misses in a few areas. It’s a little long in the tooth. No air conditioning and when it’s warm it’s warm although they provide lots of fans. The front desk staff pretends you don’t exist. One of them in the evening was very helpful, but otherwise they don’t go out of their way to provide service. Finally the place needs a good cleaning. The price points are lower than the adjacent hotels and there is a reason for this. It’s functional, just misses the mark on basic blocking and tackling.

I chose the Hotel Gamla Stan primarily for it's location, and it was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful, our room was lovely and comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. We were just down the street from the palace, across the road from the water, close to all the charming shops as well as NK, and a short walk to the Opera House. It took me nearly 30 years to return to Stockholm, and I can't wait to go back again!

Very nice location in the old city/Gamla Stan. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean, comfortable, and good size for solo traveller. The breakfast was top quality with lots of options and choices. Short walk to Royal Palace and National Museum. Close walk to the ferry to go see Vasa Museum and Viking Museum.
