This is the most beautiful hotel, and I cannot recommend it enough. So safe, great breakfast, and wonderful staff!

Overall, great place to stay. Walking distance to most major sights in Stockholm. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would recommend rethinking the shower/bathroom design for single rooms. Too small and the floors get wet. Not enough towels. Also, who wants the shower curtain stuck to you as you shower. Breakfast had good options and well stocked but food not hot.

We loved staying at this hotel with a prime location in Gamla Stan! Josephine was so helpful and provided us with so many great recommendations and tips for the area. We enjoyed all the hotel has to offer, including breakfast. We hope to be back one day!

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to all that Gamla Stan has to offer. You can easily walk to all the local attractions and restaurants, as well as being very central for the other areas like Norrmalm, Sodermalm and Ostermalm. The hotel is clean and the breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide selection of hot and cold options, all well prepared and cooked. However, the biggest disappointment was the room itself. For a four star hotel, we would have expected a lot more, especially compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Although it was very clean, it was lacking even the basic facilities. There wasn't a single piece of storage in the room, no wardrobe or chest of drawers or even a shelf. There was a small desk with no drawers and a tiny coffee table. We had to live out of our suitcases for the four nights we stayed. There was no safe or minibar in the room and when we tried to call reception on the room phone, there were no instructions and 0 or 1 failed to connect. There was no information pack about the hotel and its facilities or the attractions of Stockholm, so we had to work everything out for ourselves. The bathroom was clean but very small and reminded me more of one from a hostel rather than a four star hotel. No shower cubicle or curtain and it soaked the whole floor and toilet every time it was used. There were no bottles of toiletries, just dispensers for cheap shower gel and hair conditioner, not even separate shampoo.

All the staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was great too, with lots of choices.** My room was a single room, and it was quite small. There wasn’t really anywhere to put anything; the bedside table and main vanity table had fake drawers, so you couldn’t store anything. There were only three plugs: two by the door and the other next to the mirror. If you wanted to use the kettle, you had to boil it on the floor. There were no plugs by the bed, so you couldn’t charge your phone at night. However, the bed and sheets were comfy. The bathroom provided shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but the extractor fan wasn’t working. It was a wet room with the toilet practically in the shower, so if you showered, everything in the room got wet, including the toilet seat and floor

When we arrived, we were informed we had an upgrade. Great. Went to the room and keys didn't work so went back to reception and they sorted it. Got into the room but it was clearly in use. Went back to reception and they had written the wrong number down! ( All the reception staff were super nice and helpful though). Finally made it to our room and it was extremely spacious. Location was perfect. Part of the old town and opposite the harbour. Ferry/ trains/ buses were all within 10 minute walking distance. Breakfast in the basement was nice. It had your usual food but also doughnuts and cookies! All in all, a pleasant stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and buffet breakfast was good with many choices. I was disappointed that being a 4 star hotel, there was no closet, no drawers, no safe and no plugged in socket in bathroom.

Check in was painless. Staff efficient, knowledgeable, polite and friendly. The entrance to the hotel has about 8 steps that you will have to carry your luggage up. We had a king sized bed. The bedroom is about 10 feet by 12 feet. There is a desk, small closet, and one nitestand in the bedroom. The short hall leading to our bedroom has an area to hang coats and a small bench to put luggage on. Bathroom is quite small. Perhaps 8 feet by 4 feet. It has a small sink and a shower stall. There is not much of a barrier between the shower stall and the toilet. I would say this is the one disadvantage of this room. Water fixtures are nice. We had a portable fan in our room. There are a few outlets, but no USB ports. The included breakfast was very good. The hotel is in the old, historic part of town and thus close to the Royal Palace, Parliament, museums etc. All of those attractions are easily within walking distance. It is a short taxi to the train station 39 minute train ride to the airport. A taxi for 754 was Kron. If taking a taxi, have the hotel call one for you. It will be cheaper. The taxis waiting out on the street could be 2000 or more Kron and they may want cash. The ones called by the hotel take credit cards and they will identify themselves because they will know your room number. Overall I would call this hotel as “quaint” Overall I would call this hotel as “quaint”, personable, and reasonably priced. It would definitely use this hotel again.

Perfect Getaway Hotel
I had a great visit. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was snacks and coffee/tea in the waiting room. I had to search some for my room, but it was quaint and I slept great! Breakfast was also amazing! I can't wait to go back and stay at the Hotel Gamla again!

Good price, breakfast, and location. Pretty quiet. Staff was great. They cleaned our room above and beyond ever day. Bed was hard but thankfully there were plenty of pillows and a duvet which I slept on making it barely tolerable. Thought the bed would be softer as it was a BW hotel. I was wrong. The room was small with a useless armoire and tv. Wish they had spent the $$ on a bed instead as there wasn’t really room for the armoire or tv. The hand held shower was broken and despite informing staff of this on our first day, it was never fixed during our five day stay.
