We received the notice that there were no longer single used plastic shampoo/conditioner, bottles, which was fine. However, we were very surprised that there was no shampoo/conditioner/body wash at all. We expected that there would be multi use items attached to the wall. That was a miss as far as communication goes. Was also concerned about safety/security, recognizing there is no obstacle for anyone to enter the hotel guest levels. The elevators were not protected by a key card to go up to guest rooms. You could go directly from the street up to guest level with never encountering a staff member.

Love this hotel, try to stay here every time we're in Vancouver. The pool and decor is maybe a bit dated, but the rooms have been recently renovated and are perfect mini suites, in the heart of the city, for a very decent price. There's a croissant place next door that is second to none, and so many great dinner places within a ten minute walk. The bed was very comfortable, and my daughter slept on a pullout couch, and slept better than she does at home. Staff is friendly, and for this price point, you can't really ask for anything better.
