We had a 1 bedroom suite. Room was clean and spacious. Gorgeous view. The deck was small and 90% taken up by the hottub. So, nice to have a hottub but it does not allow for any kind of outdoor seating on the patio. If that is important, stick with a standard room. We also had someone staying in the 2 bedroom villa....they also looked nice and spacious with a great view. Parking is tight but there is overflow parking across the street. Pro Tip....a third party booking site was half the cost with a much better cancellation policy versus booking direct from the hotel website.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot on the Brentwood Bay. The rooms are beautiful and offer a feel of luxury. We had a suite with a fireplace and a hot tub on the patio, from where we could overlook the bay. We were not quite satisfied with the property’s upscale restaurant. The service was slow and they didn’t have everything on the menu. The pub was nice. We didn’t use the spa services. The marina was also nice but a boat tour wasn’t available short notice. We did enjoy taking the boat shuttle to Butchart Gardens, which is truly a gem. Overall we would still give this property a 5-star rating. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Relaxing, comfortable, but pricey.

The room is very comfortable, quiet and pleasant although the signs of age were visible. We especially enjoy the comfy swivel rockers in front of the fireplace, and the peaceful water view that can be seen from all points in the room whether chairs, comfortable bed or bathroom deep tub with doors that can open to the view. We chose to eat dinner in the dining room (not the pub) so we could share quiet conversation with our more elderly guest in another room. The service was great, the atmosphere nice, but found it quite expensive for the quantity and quality of the food which was "good" but not outstanding in flavour. Breakfast was very good the next morning in the same dining room. The room itself was expensive ($500 in summer) opposed to $300 in winter. We will look to stay again during off season--is a great place for a relaxing retreat.

One-stop Intimate Resort Experience

Very comfortable king bed! Excellent cleaning standards, and the large tub filled very quickly. Everything functioned as expected, and the views from the upstairs guest rooms are expansive, featuring the marina and Saanich Inlet views beyond the lush garden and pool area. The pub was great, and obviously very popular with the community, as well as hotel guests, featuring a wide range of very tasty dishes on a menu that changes regularly. Breakfast in the Arbutus Room offered great choices and an inspiring view. Dinner in the Arbutus room was delicious, and Adriano the sommelier enhanced our meal with some excellent and affordable wine options. The marina services are well-rounded. We took a couples boat tour, and our guide Archie was superb. The water shuttle to Butchart Gardens is a great way to access this outstanding historical site. We saw many SUP and kayak paddlers leaving from the marina. It's a great place to paddle, with calm water and plenty of sites. The spa services are well-organized. The spa lounge offers a spot to relax by a fireplace or on the deck of the pool area, which is lovely. The couples massage was excellent. If you're looking for a getaway venue that offers all of the above in one location, this is it. Very personable staff. We'll return someday.

This is a beautiful place to stay, directly on Brentwood Bay the staff is kind and understand hospitality. Each member of staff seemed willing to go above and beyond for the guests. Because the location is adults only I was a little nervous but it was just quiet and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and that’s a big deal for my husband as he’s never happy with hotel beds. There were a couple things that made this not quite a five star and they’re admittedly very minor. I had trouble with the locking mechanism on the sliding glass door that was easily explained once I brought it up but should have been explained when we checked in. And, the chairs and walls showed a bit of wear. Again it wasn’t terrible and everything was comfortable and clean. Lastly I wasn’t a big fan of the large opening from the bathroom looking out into the room. It had large shutters that we kept closed for privacy but they shook when a person went into the bathroom and closed the door. The toilet room had a separate door that opened into the small enclosed space and I needed to be careful to avoid hitting my foot (which I did, because I’m clumsy). All this being said the views were stunning and I would definitely stay here again. Don’t forget to have dinner at the pub, it’s fun, a little loud and has the same views and really lovely food and service.

They have 2 restaurants. The main dining room and the more casual pub Both were wonderful. We rented a boat at the marina and really enjoyed seeing wildlife and the beautiful scenery. Our 2 bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable and had a kitchen if we wanted to cook, It would have been nicer if they had a bellman to help us with our luggage otherwise the stay was amazing.
