Unique place. Well maintained and cared for. Its exactly how it is presented. Sounds do travel, but if you and your fellow guests are considerate, its lovely. Free laundry facilities was a huge help. Free parking too.
Our concierge Grace was incredible during our stay. We received an early check-in and she could still give us a full walk-through and advice on the area around us and transportation. She was extremely professional and kind.
The space was amazing with a gorgeous front room with games and free tea/coffee. The kitchen was very clean and well-kept. The room was beautiful and very clean with a much bigger bathroom than expected. A little noisy as the walls seemed thin but that's to be expected in an old building like this one.
Horrible experience. Terrible room ~ bathroom opposite side of shower, in need of paint, no tv, it smelled of wet dog, there was no parking near the property, breakfast was average, but the bed was comfortable.
Overcharged by Expedia as the hotel sent me a much cheaper rate. Too many emails from the property. Overall terrible.

This property was built by Samuel McClure and is the oldest guest house in victoria. Beautiful decor and Homie with breakfast in the morning, books, games, cards, and tranquility. Loved it.
We only had one night in Victoria and this was a perfect little place to stay. We wish we would have had more time to explore the property and have their breakfast.
Parking is an issue, we had to park 2 blocks away, so you have to drop your luggage and go park and walk back. They rely on street parking so not ideal in a residential neighborhood. Room was quite small and the place isn’t very soundproof because of the age of the structure.
Nice place. Check-in was easy after the limited office hours. Didn't see any staff onsite during my stay, but luckily didn't need anything. Bathroom was quite tiny. Otherwise all good.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Had a lovely stay. The guest house was clean and delicious breakfast. Very friendly staff. The bed was a bit old and the blind did not lower all the way.
Great place to stay, the building is very old so there is a musty smell and there are no elevators so if mobility is a concern this isn’t your place to stay
The Craigmyle was a super cute, quiet, historic place to stay in Victoria. Accessible by a convenient 10 min bus from downtown. The room was lovely, ours had a great view of the castle and an ensuite kitchen which we didn't even use as the main area also provides breakfast for 10$ and coffee. I would recommend this location for anyone seeking a quaint and less busy stay in Victoria.

We’ve stayed here over the years, unfortunately the property doesn’t seem to get the TLC it deserves.
Beautiful setting, convenient location, good staff, clean, in need of restoration (bathrooms mostly)
If you’re not from the area you may not know that parking is prohibited at yellow curbs. To avoid a parking fine, ensure your bumper doesn’t overlap the yellow curbs.
