Location, historic, convenient and friendly staff

The Meadowbrook complex is beautiful and well laid out. For residences that ‘live there’ it’s beautiful and convenient. As a hotel guest you share the ONE space that is your ‘go too’ for early morning coffee and food; so on a Saturday or Sunday morning it’s a crowded environment that is hard to find seating and there is a very long line. A traveler wants to get breakfast and coffee and get on w what they came to KC for. On Sunday it’s usually to an early flight or drive out of KC. And if you are relegated to sit outside it’s either Hot and Muggy or there’s not a dry table ‘due to overnight rain. So needless to say the Inn does not have any other option other than room service. Also the hours for The Market are 7:00am-8:00pm. Not great!!! when you need to get out the door at 6:30 to catch a flight.

Hotel is gorgeous! Rooftop pool is especially fun!

We asked to change rooms because the room was not clean. The carpet next to one of the beds was wet and sticky. The body wash bottle in the shower was empty. The second room was better. There was no room service, despite the fact that we asked for our towels to be changed and to have more toilet paper. I had to go to the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. We have been really disappointed with La Quinta Inn lately, with one exception. We were three adults in the room.

Safe and clean. AC worked well throughout the lobby and room when it was exceptionally hot and muggy outside. Lobby smelled strongly of perfume all of the time. Staff was friendly/polite by coastal big-city standards, but fairly impersonal by midwest/southern standards. Elevator was painfully slow. Parking (not included in the online price I paid) felt pretty expensive for a midwest city.

Clean room (a bit shabby—worn furniture) and AC was not working properly on arrival and door knob/handle was broken off the door in bathroom. Once reported fixed in a timely manner but was a hot night in the room due to poor AC.
