The staff were very helpful and friendly. They explained that Uber didn't work at the hotel when looking at my plans to travel to the airport on check out, which saved me time. The breakfast was good, with lots of choice for the 16 Euros charged. The bar prices were also reasonable, as was the restaurant food. There's plenty of places to eat locally if you prefer to get out of the hotel. The room was a very good size for our family and comfortable, but quite dated. Whilst the Best Western rooms have air conditioning, I hadn't realised that the Hotel Maximillian rooms didn't have any when booking. They did though provide 3 fans in the room, which helped a little with the heat. We were opposite a staff room which gave us little privacy as due to the heat we had to have the windows open. Overall though it was a pleasant stay.

The rooms are lovely and well maintained the bar is rudimentary but its the staff that make it so welcoming and helpful

Absolutely excellent place to stay. Great location, close to lots of restaurants. Room was clean and quiet.

15 min walk to station. Appreciated the free basel card giving free transport on trams. Plentiful breakfast. Lovely reception staff.

Clean room, good breakfast and friendly staff

The hotel was very nice. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood. Reception is closed early Saturdays and all day Sunday, so make sure to send questions/request in advance during this hours. Otherwise check in was no trouble (key in safety box ) Public transportation was very close and easy to navigate.
