This motel does exactly what it's purpose is - to provide clean, inexpensive lodging in a safe area. We got a room in the suite of rooms across from the main building, parking was free, the surrounding area was safe and clean, the room and bathroom were very basic but did the job. The bed was comfortable, the AC and wifi worked well, the toiletries in the bathroom smelled nice. There was a mini-fridge in the room. They also gave us free tickets to the Japanese garden, which was a nice treat. I took one point off from cleanliness because they don't do daily cleaning by default. We requested cleaning after our first night and it didn't get done until we called them again. I would highly recommend folks to stay here if they're looking for a clean, safe, well-priced room in Portland.

If there had been a laundry machine, it would've helped us a lot. But everything else was great. I loved the breakfast, location, and staff. Excellent general manager!

We have stayed at this property for the last three years for a few days in the summer. Great location if you wanna do a little wandering in the wonderful town of the Astoria, the hotel staff is so friendly and helpful. Depending on how busy they are parking can become a little bit of an issue so be prepared to pay for valet parking but even that is easy and not terribly expensive at $20 a day.
