We ended up NOT staying at the Showboat Hotel!! After standing in line for 2 hours to check in at 9:30 pm, we were told that the rooms were not cleaned and it could be 2-5 hours before any of the rooms were ready!! Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?! We were also bitten alive while standing in line! There were fleas all over everyone in line! I can’t tell you how repulsive the hotel was! I can’t even imagine how the rooms looked! We walked down to the restroom while waiting in line, just to come across human feces on the carpet in the hallway!!! This place was utterly disgusting!! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THE SHOWBOAT AGAIN! Showboat used to be one of my favorite places to stay!! STAY AWAY!!! IT’S DISGUSTING!!!!!

One of the only positive I can say was the location was a 10/10. Steps away from the middle of the boardwalk. Coaster running very late but somehow did not affect the sound in our bedroom. The room was not very clean. Sand felt on the floor upon arrival. Somehow, we felt sand in the sheets of the bed too. Long black hairs found throughout the room, including inside the fridge. We always use Clorox wipes in every hotel we stay at, and many surfaces turned the wipes brown. Our keypad to enter room had a dead battery and we were locked out of our room at the mercy of maintenance to come let us in and change the battery (mind you it was 9 pm, I have 2 young children and am 18 weeks pregnant). Thankfully they came within 15 minutes but it was frustrating to say the least. Difficult and tedious to get ahold of lobby staff. They seem to be inconsistent answering the phone. Lobby receptions are offsite on the other side of street which grew frustrating when we needed things like extra towels, toilet paper, etc. TV stopped working in living area. Just tried to spend least amount of time in room as possible, skeeved out and couldn’t wait to leave the room despite having an amazing time in ocean city taking full advantage of the convenient location. I would just come prepared with cleaning supplies and as many of your own supplies as possible because it felt gross. I wouldn’t be able to cope with this hotel longer than 2 nights. We survived.

I usually do not write reviews after a stay at any hotel, but I find the need to do one after booking the Legacy Hotel in Brigantine. I have been traveling my entire life and never, EVER seen such a rundown, beyond dirty hotel room as I did with this property. I booked a two night stay as part of a vacation stay with my family, and when checking in to the property, we were told that the property was closed for the last 6-months. I thought they may have been renovating due to the age of the hotel, but was told it was closed for "safety reasons" which was a huge red flag. I was hoping everything was going to be okay. We went to our room, (wife and daughter) and when we walked in the room there was a bad odor that we all recognized within the first minute. The room did not look like what I saw in the pictures, there were no towels in the bathroom, the stove was broken as the burner was sticking up, there were wires hanging down when walking into the room (looks as if they removed an old smoke alarm and added a new one but never closed up the old location with wires. We could not open the bathroom door when the bedroom door was closed as they hit one another, the carpet was dirty and debris on floor. We then opened up the sofa bed and it was DISGUSTING as there were black marks all over the sheet ( not sure what it was, looked like it could have been some type of droppings with hair and other dirt on sheets. Obviously this room was never cleaned. I am still waiting on my refund.

Room was dated and we ate mostly in other surrounding resorts. Entertainment wasn't great as well

I checked into the hotel at approximately 6:00 p.m. Upon arrival, I was in a hurry to change clothes and leave for a concert at another casino. Because I was rushing, I did not have the opportunity to thoroughly inspect my room before leaving. I returned to my room at approximately 3:00 a.m., and it was then that I discovered the unacceptable condition of the accommodations. At that hour, I understood that the hotel was fully booked, so I felt there was little that could be done regarding a room change. Instead, I decided to document my concerns and report them at checkout. Unfortunately, the condition of the room fell far below the standards I expected from Bally's, a well-known casino and hotel brand. The room was outdated, poorly maintained, and did not appear to have been properly cleaned prior to my arrival. As a first-time guest, I was extremely disappointed. Among the issues I observed were: A soiled washcloth left behind the nightstand from a previous guest. Hair on the bathroom fixtures that clearly did not belong to me, indicating the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. Rust throughout the bathtub. Loose electrical outlets, creating a potential safety concern. Extremely dirty and stained carpeting. An iron that did not function properly and leaked water onto my clothing These conditions made for a very uncomfortable stay and significantly diminished what should have been an enjoyable trip.
