I really love this place. Beautiful property, the owners were nice, the bed was comfy, and the rooms were nice and clean. I wouldn't consider it glamping, but it was a really nice place to stay and unwind for a couple of days. Oh, and the mountain biking trails are top-notch!

This was a very poor experience. We had no water for shower, and no water in kitchen sink. We checked in late at night, got up to take showers, and weren't able to do so because there was no water. We'd rented the cabin to go to a wedding and weekend events. Checked out an hour before checkout time to get to the event--unshowered-- and called the host, who didn't pick up. Left a message reporting the problem, and then we were told that we should have spoke to him to have him fix the problem before we checked out. I asked if he thought we should miss the event to wait for him to call back re: the water? Host Offered a $50 rebate and said it wan't his problem that our timeframe didn't work with the time of when we let him know, then the host went on to say he didn't have to offer a refund and got very personal about what should be a professional, business transaction. Host that I was "absolutely disrespectful."..he's "at a loss with how humanity has become and not sure how some people sleep at night. Please never come back to our establishment. ..You're not the kind of customer we want to welcome back." I have NEVER written a negative review of a rental, and have a positive track record for giving positive, gracious reviews. I do not recommend this place to fellow travelers.

The Follansbee had great history and the architecture was stunning. The beds and pillows could definitely use an upgrade. Our beds were hard and pillows were flat. We weren’t crazy about the breakfast but the next person may think it was great, that’s very subjective. The grounds, the lake, the church, I give all of that an excellent! I would definitely stay again with upgraded bedding..

This is a secret Hidaway. Don't judge a book by its cover. Very cozy, roomy cottage. We were a family of 4 and there was more than enough room. Communication was amazing and is what made our stay easy! Perfect distance to Mount Sunapee.

I am a gluten free eater so I wish their breakfast had more options but I could only eat the yogurt. Staff were helpful with their local recommendations nearby. Otherwise, property was clean, conveniently located, and excellent service.

Great place! It’s old so noise is high. We were on porch and you could hear door (so loudly) opening and closing w guests and staff.

I was expecting minimal amenities, but i was sold on the glowing reviews of the homey kitchen available for guest use. However, when i arrived, i found that the 3 kitchen sinks had out of order signs on them. One sink had even been plugged with spray foam. There were multiple signs saying we should use paper and plastic dinnerware. I'm not sure how i'm supposed to fry an egg using paper and plastic. It is so frustrating when these new management companies take advantage of glowing reviews left when small operators put in the time and care to maintain facilities, then jack up the prices and let the amenities fail. Its a bait and switch. Aside from the kitchen, the room (red, white and blue room) was adequate, but it smelled strongly of toilet, the most recent paint job left mystery fixtures on the walls, and the bathroom fan rattles very loudly.
