Loved the character of the hotel. It was in a really good location. AC in the room a little aggressive.

Perfect half way spot on my trip. Staff were lovely. Room was clean and the buffet was the perfect way to start my drive!

Love this place

It was like we had the whole place to ourselves! The hotel was definitely the highlight to our stay in Roanoke. My kids loved the refreshments. The hotel was beautiful, the bed & furniture were amazing and so comfortable. We did not have bedding the first night we were there for the pullout, not that my teenager cared, but we found someone doing housekeeping the following day and he was so nice and got it immediately.

My stay was excellent, just two things: one, the air conditioning made a noise like fan blades rubbing together, and two, I would have appreciated a complimentary bottle of water. But everything else was excellent and highly recommended. This will be the hotel I'll be visiting for the next four years, as my daughter has started university and I'll be in the area frequently.

I’ve stayed in many inns& this is a nice inn. But it could be better. On arrival, the grass was a bit overgrown. However, it did get mowed the next day (Saturday). A vacuum cleaner was left in the hallway, & a ladder was left open in another hallway. The owner‘s daughter was getting married the following day so understandable that it was a busy time. But with a business partner, these small things could have been avoided. Breakfast was included in the room rate. They advertise that the breakfast is made to order. Mine may have been made to order, but it looked and tasted like it was made hours earlier. It was just okay. On my second day, they forgot to prepare breakfast for me and gave me $24 to compensate. The room is nicely furnished, but one of the lamps was defective. Both were turned on and off by touch. On one lamp, I touched in every location to turn the lamp on and off to the point that my finger was uncomfortable, and I gave up on trying to find the right place to turn it off with touch and had to loosen the bulb to get the light turned off. The ceiling fan light is also defective. Twice in the middle of the night, the light came on and I had to get up and dabble with the remote to get it turned off which was a sleep interruption. I recommend that they put at least one bottle of water in the refrigerator for guests along with tissues in the bathroom. Front porch is nice! I rate it an 8.0.
