The hotel is in the perfect location to explore Exeter. The room was large and overlooked the cathedral. The bed was very comfortable and the coffee machine a bonus. The breakfast was good and the staff efficient and well trained. However the room looked very tired. The paint on the skirting boards and wooden panels was chipped and peeling, as was the corner of the wardrobe. The floor was uneven and upon investigation the laminate panels were missing and covered with a rug. The flush in the toilet was coming away from the tiles and the sinks taps were loose. The grout and sealant definitely needs replacing. I expect a higher quality of room from a 4* hotel especially considering the cost.

I had great overnight stay for a work trip. My room was spacious and had a nice bathroom. Modern on/off button shower was good. The tv reception was not great (BBC1 didn't work), the carpet a little worn and the shower leaked to the bathroom floor but these were minor details and didn't really impact my overall view. I slept well, the staff were friendly and the best thing was the breakfast. Recommended for an overnight stay.
