In all my years, I never thought I would use the word “dilapidated” to describe a hotel, but this was easily one of the worst four-day stays I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the condition of the property was extremely disappointing. The first room we were given, 250, had a strong mildew smell, which we immediately reported to the front desk. We were moved to room 244, but unfortunately, it had the same issue. The third room had a lighter mildew smell, but it was still noticeable and unacceptable. At that point, we immediately began looking for another hotel, but due to a major event in Des Moines, everything nearby was booked. The hotel itself appears to be in serious need of renovation. From the outside, parts of the second floor appear to be deteriorating over the first floor. A side staircase was blocked off with caution tape and a “Do Not Use” warning. The air conditioners in the rooms also produced a foul odor when turned on, which seemed consistent with moisture or water-retention issues. The staff was generally semi-friendly, but the condition of the property overshadowed everything else. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in its current condition. Several reviews may claim the hotel is excellent, but my experience was completely different. This property needs a major renovation and should address these issues before continuing to charge guests for rooms in this condition. A refund was requested but denied.

The room & facility were very clean, beds were comfortable as well. Staff was friendly & efficient. The breakfast was awesome, lots of options to choose from!

Good place to go

The pool was nice, the breakfast was great. Hotel staff was so nice and helpful. The restaurant across was to die for. Will stay here again.

Just a quick overnight stop. Place was fine.
