We booked this hotel through Hotels.com and reserved a 2-queen room with a partial ocean view. The woman at the front desk was pleasant enough when we arrived, but unfortunately, everything changed once we entered the room. The room smelled terrible and was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The smoke detectors had been removed, with the wires left hanging from the ceiling. There were what appeared to be blood splatters on the wall next to the toilet, black mildew throughout the ceiling and grout, and the ceiling fan had its light covers removed with exposed bulbs hanging down. The fan’s pull strings were also inoperable. There was so much dust built up on the walls above the bed that we could actually see it blowing around in the breeze. The coffee area had spills all over the wall and microwave. Within just a few minutes of being in the room, my daughter began experiencing a stuffy. We left. This hotel is not being cleaned or maintained properly.

The photo of the room was not at all what we stay in. It was just a small room with a bathroom. Check-in/check-out was at a different location and we were not informed prior to arriving. We had been driving all day and it was quite inconvinient to continnue to drive around town. We had everything we needed nearby, the main street was a few blocks away.

First thing to know is there is NO air conditioning and the staff were very defensive about this The room was decent but there is not only no staff at night but no one is available! A poor lady and her kids were locked out for hours because her key wasn't working and couldn't get hold of anyone for hours

Great location in a beautiful town!

Breakfast was disappointing due to the tiny dining space and limited food options. The bedroom floor was wet when we checked in. Additionally, the bed springs were far too soft and loud—my husband couldn't sleep at all because of the noise every time he moved.

Skamania Lodge is a lovely property with an amazing view of the Columbia River. The grounds and staff are very attentive to guest needs. We enjoyed our stay very much!
