We were greeted with a handshake which is always a good start. Our hosts, Neil and Rosemarie were welcoming and eager to make sure our stay was a good one. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom and shower. We were pleased with the coffee machine and the fridge on the landing for the cold milk. The small touches are what makes this hotel a special one. The bar downstairs proved popular to watch the world cup and we appreciated the hospitality during the evening. Breakfast was cooked to order and taken on the deck. The swimming pool was excellent. Car parking is easy and plentiful. One small point is that we would have appreciated a fan in our room which was very hot. Given the extremely high temperatures we are all experiencing it might be something to consider for the future. Otherwise everything was absolutely fine and of a very high standard.

Lovely stay. Staff very attentive. Room was quite small but spotlessly clean with quality linen and towels. Breakfast cooked to order with a great choice. We chose to dine in town which was a pleasant 10 minute walk. The only problem for me was the creaking of floorboards from the room above, to be expected in an old building. We were amused by the sound of snoring from a neighbouring room but guess this was due to us all having our windows open in this lovely warm weather.

This is a top hotel to stay. We were in the luxury suite on the top floor, room 306 with a massive bathroom & gorgeous sea views. We were v impressed with the concierge service as we booked parking at the premises. Our luggage was collected and dropped and the concierge moved the car for us. This was fantastic as the spaces are tight. We were there for folk week and really enjoyed the vibes of the festival experienced right by the hotel. Breakfast was excellent too and served (not buffet). Thanks to the reception staff member- sorry I cant remember your name and the Nepalese lady who served us Breakfast. We will be back

I had to ask staff how to turn ths shower on. There was no switch or button, and nothinh indicated on the shower itself. It turned out that an unlabelled part of the structure had to be pushed doen. It needs a label. Other than lack of a Duvet, everything else was fine.

Check in speedy & shown straight to room which although cosy was well equipped & very clean, staff all ready friendly & welcoming. Breakfast choice excellent. Although evening meal was well cooked & good plate size, we thought that the menu was fixed & rather limited, there were no specials offered. Would struggle to eat there for more than a couple of nights.

I called a few days ahead of our stay to let them Know that my daughter was celebrating her 16th birthday on that day and if they could do anything special for this. They said they couldn’t as they only provide champagne for adults and they are very busy so won’t have time. I suggested maybe a small card and a few chocolates just as a welcome gesture. He sighed and seemed annoyed I had pushed the point. When we arrived I noticed the carpets in bedrooms were very obviously stained and worn out. Looked disgusting to the point where I didn’t feel like walking on them in bare feet. No hand soap in the main en suite bathroom or any shower gel or shampoo which I expected. When I contacted them they said they don’t offer shower gel or shampoo for self catering accommodation. I have never experienced these basics not being provided in any other self catering accommodation. There was a noticeable crusty stain in the corner of the shower in the main double bed en suite and cracked tiles on the floor on the shower room. The side table light shade was also cracked on the inside and this showed up clearly when it was turned on. There were spiders webs in and around the windows which should be easy to spot and sort out. There was no fan on the kitchen which was really hot when we arrived. There was a window we could have opened but it was locked shut. There were no keys to open them. When I asked if they had them they said they would find out but never did get back to us. £250 /ngt
