Room was clean. Just didn’t have a fridge. Smoke smell still in non smoking. Booked a king bed and they only had a room for pets with a king yuck. Had to take 2 queen bed room. Didn’t appreciate that.

There was a mix-up with my room and Diple, the Supervisor from Housekeeping, was amazing. She was able to assist in finding my family a room that was more than accommodating. She even gave my son chocolate candy for his 21st birthday. Diple made our stay amazing!

We stayed at Ballys Monday- Wednesday slowest days and maybe short staffed. Gym and pool were closed. I was at the carousel bar and asked for drink menu the male bartender said they don’t have a drink menu and didn’t even engage with me after that. The room fridge smelled like spilled liquor and there was a white cup that was used mixed up with clean cups. The bathroom sink faucet leaked. By this time I was over it, I will not pay to stay at Ballys again this was my 5th time staying here. We only came back because I heard Ballys did renovations all around the carpet everywhere still filmed either stains overall I wasn’t pleased. I hate to do a review like this but I’m here to tell you the real deal. I wished they were really fix the hotel portion the escalator ( floor) wasn’t working at all. The staff looked and acted under paid and tired. Other than that we tried to make the best of it.

I really don’t know who was doing the reviews I read, that made me feel confident when booking this place because this “hotel” was NASTY. The cigarette smell is out of this world, the room stinks so bad. Everything is so outdated. Absolutely not kid/family friendly. I change rooms because for the strong cigarette smell, they did change it without any problem, but still; it was so nasty. The AC was horrible, both rooms were so hot. The rooms were NOT clean. Overall, DONT WASTE YOU MONEY. This was honestly a terrible stay.

One of the only positive I can say was the location was a 10/10. Steps away from the middle of the boardwalk. Coaster running very late but somehow did not affect the sound in our bedroom. The room was not very clean. Sand felt on the floor upon arrival. Somehow, we felt sand in the sheets of the bed too. Long black hairs found throughout the room, including inside the fridge. We always use Clorox wipes in every hotel we stay at, and many surfaces turned the wipes brown. Our keypad to enter room had a dead battery and we were locked out of our room at the mercy of maintenance to come let us in and change the battery (mind you it was 9 pm, I have 2 young children and am 18 weeks pregnant). Thankfully they came within 15 minutes but it was frustrating to say the least. Difficult and tedious to get ahold of lobby staff. They seem to be inconsistent answering the phone. Lobby receptions are offsite on the other side of street which grew frustrating when we needed things like extra towels, toilet paper, etc. TV stopped working in living area. Just tried to spend least amount of time in room as possible, skeeved out and couldn’t wait to leave the room despite having an amazing time in ocean city taking full advantage of the convenient location. I would just come prepared with cleaning supplies and as many of your own supplies as possible because it felt gross. I wouldn’t be able to cope with this hotel longer than 2 nights. We survived.
