Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel is not at or near the beach. It is along a busy and noisy road, so bring ear plugs. The AC unit was also crazy loud when it kicked on (think vacuum cleaner level) that even ear plugs didn’t help. Throw in the extremely bright “spotlight” level lights just outside the window that lit up the room despite the blinds and I got very little sleep. The uncomfortable mattress didn’t help. The sheets had some spots too so cleanliness could’ve been better. The bathroom is so tiny that the door scrapes the toilet as you close it, and you must close it because the toilet paper is behind that door.

Location was good

Would not stay here again. 1. They trick you and charge a 45$ a night amenity fee after you book. They let you know via a message before you arrive. This makes them not price competitive after this fee. Also…for what? The crappy pool and WiFi that literally every hotel provides for free these days? 2. They tried to put us in a weird wing of the building. No signs to the room number (3rd floor) Cleaning carts everywhere. Felt like a dungeon. Weird. They moved us once we complained. 3. The new “upgraded room - haha” had terrible water pressure. Hot water was sometimes available, but not all times. Definitely not coming back, and you shouldn’t either.

Room was clean. Housekeeping staff were great. Bed was very comfortable. Bathtub had been updated w/new faucet and shower head...poorly finished; really sloppy. Tub has a slight slope from side to middle I presume to direct water but it makes standing a bit unsure as there is not a flat surfact to stand on. No non-slip surace or mat. Not comfortable because of that. Safety bar was installed on the back wall of the shower which was a bit of a stretch to reach, but more importantly, if you were holding on to the bar for safety there wasn't enough water pressure for the new shower head to reach my standing body. I'm not sure I would stay there again. Although I understand it's Newport...it was pricey for condition.

We had a nice long weekend at the hotel. The staff was friendly, the breakfasts were good, parking was free and very convenient. The location is a short walk to both restaurants and shops. My only recommendation to the hotel is to address the musty odor that is overwhelming when you walk into the lobby. Maybe consider a signature scent of some type? Everything was in order and kept, but the smell made me feel otherwise. There are some minor repairs to the room we were staying in that need addressing. The bathroom seemed a bit worn, otherwise good little hotel that is quiet.
