Our initial room upon check in was very dirty (hair all over the bathroom shower, bed, and blood stains on the window curtains). We did bring this to attention at the front desk and they immediately switched our rooms and let us check the room we were moving to first. The new room was much cleaner however there were some broker items and the rooms are pretty dated (pop corn ceilings and old scratched/stained furniture). Lastly, housekeeping only refilled our toilet paper once in the 5 days we were there and we ran out and had to ask for more. Over all if it wasn’t for the location and the wonderful staff I don’t know if we would choose to stay here again.

We had a nice long weekend at the hotel. The staff was friendly, the breakfasts were good, parking was free and very convenient. The location is a short walk to both restaurants and shops. My only recommendation to the hotel is to address the musty odor that is overwhelming when you walk into the lobby. Maybe consider a signature scent of some type? Everything was in order and kept, but the smell made me feel otherwise. There are some minor repairs to the room we were staying in that need addressing. The bathroom seemed a bit worn, otherwise good little hotel that is quiet.

Room was clean. Housekeeping staff were great. Bed was very comfortable. Bathtub had been updated w/new faucet and shower head...poorly finished; really sloppy. Tub has a slight slope from side to middle I presume to direct water but it makes standing a bit unsure as there is not a flat surfact to stand on. No non-slip surace or mat. Not comfortable because of that. Safety bar was installed on the back wall of the shower which was a bit of a stretch to reach, but more importantly, if you were holding on to the bar for safety there wasn't enough water pressure for the new shower head to reach my standing body. I'm not sure I would stay there again. Although I understand it's Newport...it was pricey for condition.

The staff were friendly. The location was great a lot of renovations going on, but nothing that affected us.

Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel is not at or near the beach. It is along a busy and noisy road, so bring ear plugs. The AC unit was also crazy loud when it kicked on (think vacuum cleaner level) that even ear plugs didn’t help. Throw in the extremely bright “spotlight” level lights just outside the window that lit up the room despite the blinds and I got very little sleep. The uncomfortable mattress didn’t help. The sheets had some spots too so cleanliness could’ve been better. The bathroom is so tiny that the door scrapes the toilet as you close it, and you must close it because the toilet paper is behind that door.
