BRING YOUR OWN POTS AND PANS!!! The hotel is clean and all amenities are new, in good repair. The property was well taken care of, we had dogs with us that we were very comfortable walking around the property, the area was clean and well maintained. The ONLY thing that I need to warn any future guests about this property is you NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN POTS AND PANS! I have travelled a lot and whenever I stayed in hotel with kitchenette, I don’t expect fully equipped but there would be basic one or two pot, one frying pan, and limited cooking utensils. There was NOTHING provided in this property. Front desk had a sign where you can BUY the pot and pans. I was very surprised about this set up and disappointed as I was not able to do some simple cooking as I had planned. If you offer a kitchen, some basics are expected or please give your guests heads up that the kitchen will have absolutely nothing by the stove top, period. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay. The charging station also not seems to be working.

There was not adequate parking. The indoor and outdoor pools were freezing with the exception of one, but that one was loaded with children. The paint was peeling everywhere. There were much needed repairs visible in the room, as well as in the pool area. The hotel only allowed one pool towel. The room had a fireplace that did not work and a toaster that also did not work. We would never recommend this place.

This property was at its worst for our stay. We booked the room more than 30 days in advance but they only notified us of the following problems 2 hours before we checked in. The elevators were not working and we were initially booked on the 4th floor. We were relocated to the 2nd floor which required pulling three 50+ pound suitcases up (and down) a flight of stairs. Not fun. The central A/C system was also not working, but they had installed window A/C units in the rooms (one per room, so our living room was cooled but the bedroom was not). A fan was provided to move the cool air into the bedroom so that did help. Since the A/C system was down the daily full breakfast was reduced to a continental style breakfast. We did not get what we paid for so requested a discount. We received 20% off but felt like it should have been more. We will have at least two more stays in the Dartmouth College area but will avoid this property.

I can appreciate a vintage property and there are many things about this hotel that are charming. That said, my spacious King room overlooking the front of the hotel had a window a/c and vinyl blinds that did nothing to block out the streetlights all night - like sleeping with the lights on. At 4am the train whistle blew about 2 blocks away and seemed like it kept blowing until 5am. The bathroom was “remodeled” to accommodate an open shower/wet area in one corner and a toilet 6 inches from the opposite wall. The toilet base literally rocked from side to side, which I reported. I wish them well, but this was a hard night that I will not be repeating.
