Our stay at Gingerhill Farm in Hawaii was a truly unique experience and the perfect retreat. If you're looking for something comfortable and memorable outside of the traditional resort stay, this is it. The outdoor shower and open-air kitchen were absolute highlights—they made us feel immersed in the beautiful surroundings while still having everything we needed. The property is filled with lush gardens, blooming ginger, and vibrant tropical plants that create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We also loved spotting the friendly geckos throughout the property, which added to the authentic island experience. A wonderful bonus was discovering the beautiful artwork by Mayumi Oda displayed throughout the property. Her vibrant, nature-inspired prints complemented the peaceful setting perfectly and added another layer of inspiration to our stay. If you appreciate nature, tranquility, and a one-of-a-kind place to stay, Gingerhill Farm is a wonderful choice!

Great location, quiet. Unit pretty dark and very dated looking. Had all the amenities I needed.

I was hoping that the reviews were not true but it is true. There are roaches and ants in the room. I can also see roach sticky pads and ant baits under the couch and on the side of the fridge. Very gross. The rooms are outdated but it was nice that there is AC. The best part was the location. It was very convenient to everything such as shopping and restaurants. But because of convenience, the location is noisy but it was not an issue for me. Parking is very limited onsite but I did not have an issue. There was also street parking if needed.

We chose this B&B because of its excellent reviews and it's proximity to Volcano National Park. The manager was accommodating by letting us change our room to a larger one because we were 3 people. However there are quite a few things that went wrong: 1. our room wasn't air conditioned- it was hot in August 2. Promised daily breakfast- we got a basket of a few items but it wasn't re- filled on the second day- so we had to go out to buy breakfast on the second day. 3. Very noisy - we had to sleep with the windows open - due to no ac - very loud birds making noise all night. In addition at 4 am both nights a beeping started every minute- the manager said it was the gate. 4. No instructions about how to get provisions, ice, .... 5. They do not come in to tidy the room . You get a clean room when you arrive and that is it. As a result, we didn't sleep both nights we were there. They charged us over $600 for 2 nights and we feel it was a waste.
