Older rooms either few updates.

Super clean, appeared to be newer construction, well decorated, comfy beds with good bedding. More spacious than a typical hotel room and true queen beds. My expectation was hotel with a front desk, but more of a VRBO feel. Call to check in and get the lock box code to get your key...super simple and the folks on the phone were kind and helpful...made staying an extra night a no brainer. Thanks, James

What a great experience! The Yurt was great! It was super clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable! There is no bathroom in the Yurt - - there are portable toilets and a shower a short walk away. Overall I would recommend this for a unique Alaska experience!

Our stay was excellent. Joy and Tom were fantastic. They welcomed us and treated us as family. Joy reached out to me before our scheduled stay to keep me up to date and what to expect. She texed me when the cabin was ready and how to access the cabin and were to park. After we arrived and got settled in was out on the porch when Joy and Tom stopped by and introduced themselves. They let us know about the property and how to access the river. Tom and his dad even came down to check on us when we went fishing. Offered some great advice and helpful pointers. The cabin and property were clean and had some beautiful views. Anything we needed they were there to help. They have large freezers to store our fish we caught and helped with fish boxes to get them home. We had a great time there that we already booked for next year. Thank you Joy amd Tom for helping make our trip to Alaska great.

I stayed at the Hotel Seward expecting that a $500-a-night rate - steep, though not exorbitant for the area - would come with the basics. It didn't. If you're considering the Hotel Seward, go in knowing you'll be paying a premium rate for a highly stripped-down experience. I'd look elsewhere. The single most surprising thing: they provide no housekeeping services whatsoever. No daily tidy, no fresh towels, nothing. Even budget hotels offer housekeeping, so to find it entirely absent at this price point was completely baffling. My "renovated" room was on the ground floor with what the listing might generously call a view - of the parking lot. People walked past my window and cars pulled in and out just feet from my door, so privacy and quiet were in short supply. Moreover, the room relied on 80's baseboard heating. For the money, I expected far more comfort and far more service than I got. Lastly, zero breakfast of any kind included. Nothing. I stayed at the Hotel 360 on the harbor for the same price and it was GORGEOUS, with all the amenities (great breakfast, housekeeping, super friendly staff, an unbelievable view, actually renovated rooms, etc.). Stay far away from Hotel Seward.

Really rough accommodations, the front door didn’t even close all of the way. We were woken up at 1:00 am by a fight in the bar next door, with one of the people yelling that he was going to go grab his gun. Would not recommend staying here unless the price is very low.
