The owner was very helpful with what I was trying to accomplish on the island while I stayed with her.. she gave me so much information concerning the area and places to visit.. ex: beaches parks. She made the most delicious pineapple muffins.. my choice for breakfast. She was prepared to make much more but I'm a light eater. I really loved staying there!

The staff is wonderful, delicious fruit for breakfast and amazing views. Valerie is a wonderful host at this resort.

We stayed in the Garden room and found it to be a little peace of paradise all on its own. The host was absolutely fabulous, he would come over in the morning and get the coffee going, gave us an itinerary of events going on for each day of the week. On Monday he hosted a bonfire bbq, with drinks, food, and entertainment. We felt very welcome here. One of the highlights beyond the awesome hot tub in the jungle was the outdoor shower, now I want one at my house. This will definitely be our Hawaii home for every trip to the big island. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better time staying there. Absolutely the best resort I’ve been to.

We chose this B&B because of its excellent reviews and it's proximity to Volcano National Park. The manager was accommodating by letting us change our room to a larger one because we were 3 people. However there are quite a few things that went wrong: 1. our room wasn't air conditioned- it was hot in August 2. Promised daily breakfast- we got a basket of a few items but it wasn't re- filled on the second day- so we had to go out to buy breakfast on the second day. 3. Very noisy - we had to sleep with the windows open - due to no ac - very loud birds making noise all night. In addition at 4 am both nights a beeping started every minute- the manager said it was the gate. 4. No instructions about how to get provisions, ice, .... 5. They do not come in to tidy the room . You get a clean room when you arrive and that is it. As a result, we didn't sleep both nights we were there. They charged us over $600 for 2 nights and we feel it was a waste. Great property with even a private rainforest trail. Lots of maintenance effort to make this place a great home away from home. Room is perfect, feel like living in a forest.

Well-situated to beautiful coastal walking. Friendly, helpful proprietors, quiet and comfortable

This hotel is more like a rental house than typical hotel. There are only eight or so rooms and each one has nice views with privacy. There is no staff on site but you can contact them is needed. I would stay here again. One thing to consider, you are 30 minutes from most services. If you don’t mind that and want something quiet this is a great option.
