The property was very clean and well appointed and very conveniently located. The main disappointment, though, was that there was super low water pressure. It was like trying to bath with a garden hose.

The staff was great from arrival. They're very knowledgeable of the area and want to help you feel comfortable immediately. The free coffee and tea in the morning was a nice surprise. We also had a drink on the rooftop and enjoyed it. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the elevator. There's one very small elevator for the property and it runs slow. I realized I could take the stairs right to my room basically on the 2nd day so it wasn't a big deal but I know that can be a headache for some. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a cute microhotel.

Overall the property was very well maintained and the staff helpful. It’s really convenient due to the proximity to Union Station -just crossing the street- and, many museums as well the Capitol. My weekend coincided with the Grand Prix celebrating the 250 years of Independence and we were able to walk around a lot. Many restaurants around and the hotel restaurant has a nice ambiance. The only issue we had was closing the door, we had to really throw it with force to closed properly.

The Riggs is my preferred stay when in DC; however, it is showing wear and tear, and prime for an overall refresh
