The room was clean & comfortable, The staff was friendly & prompt. The room had undergone some upgrading. The bed was VERY comfortable! It was nothing fancy as it is a family run motel. Bring your own hair dryer. There was no breakfast, however, the family restaurant down the street was very good.

Thanks for the wonderful trip, can’t wait to come back and experience another room!

The hotel was clean and convenient. The hotel staff were great. Hoolihan's, avoid.

A clean place to stay, plenty of room for a family of 4. Staff was very friendly. Coffee and water to go!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion Inn and Suites in Urbana, Illinois, feeling appreciated that we chose to stay there. For us having the option of a room with a sliding glass door that opens onto a grassy area with trees and a picnic table was nice. We liked being able to open the room up and have fresh air. The grout in the tiled bathroom was clean which takes effort. The shower was adjustable to 2 different heights. We had never seen that before and felt it would be helpful if you were travelling with children. Additional space in the bathroom for toiletries would be helpful. The breakfast team used gloves to restock toast and muffins. They also restocked the eggs in a new pan rather than topping off the existing one and swapped the full trash can for an empty one instead of changing the liner near the food. The hotel provides a shuttle service for guests. We were able to leave the car at the hotel, take the shuttle to the Amtrak station and get picked up when we returned from Chicago four days later. Another plus is a heated indoor pool that is available to guests and the community. There was an exercise class in the pool one morning. While we were in Chicago, a small restaurant opened in the lobby and future plans include a small art gallery. There are more upgrades to come. Staying here is a wonderful way to support a small business owner who genuinely wants his guests to enjoy their stay.

I liked that it was nice and quiet and the staff was friendly . I did not like that the only way to the second floor as stairs , and the continental breakfast was a bit weak
