There are very few lodging choices in Cooke City. Alpine Motel was okay to stay 1 night before the next day's Beartooth scenic way drive. The motel is small but the room was clean. The dining choices are also limited too. I would recommend staying in Red Lodge for better/more options.

The room was very outdated, and the soundproofing was poor — we could easily hear noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Upon arrival, we had to wait quite a while at the front desk before someone came to assist us. The bedding did not look very well-maintained, and the shower was a whole separate issue. It did not work properly: the showerhead would not stay in place, and the shower door would not close. If you simply need a place to sleep for one night and continue your trip, this hotel could be an option. However, I would not recommend it for a longer stay, especially if you are traveling with children.
