Historic is one way to describe it... dated another. The rooms are dark, dreary. The property is hard to access due to surrounding construction which furthers the issues. I was invaded by Security as I had just stepped out of the shower and was in the bedroom and I heard the door open. I called out and then frantically threw some clothes on to find a man standing in the door saying "Is the shower leaking as the room downstairs called to say they had a leak". It was 4 in the afternoon. I had just taken a shower and was dressing for the evening. I received NO CALL from the front desk to inquire if I was in the room and had he knocked three times I did not hear him but I did hear the door opening. I was partially naked a man standing there about a leak. I actually went into the bathroom confirmed I had turned off the shower and he said he would come back later. To do what exactly. I hated the room. I had not flooded the bathroom and if it was leaking below it is a plumbing issue that would require a proper investigation. How was that to happen exactly. I went downstairs and there were two folks one who insisted he knocked three times... well if I was still in the shower how would I have heard that? Would he have come in to investigate while I was in the shower? Again no calls to see if I was in there first? It was all too bizarre. Do not recommend the unit. No apologies, No nothing. Horrid service.

I was charged $32.10 and $14.98 on my credit card with no explanation. I messaged via the Expedia inbox/chat feature to try and get an explanation, but got no response. Terrible experience.

Nice place!

We absolutely loved the gentleman on the desk in the evening. What a delight. Our room was wonderful, bright and so clean. Our travel partner’s room was spacious but a bit worn, a bit dusty, some lose cords and spiders in the curtains. There are inviting common spaces inside and outside. Overall I think this is a lovely place to stay and a good location. Parking is in the garage on the next block but it’s more convenient than it sounds and reasonably priced for overnight.

Super cute atmosphere. We enjoyed the decor and unique art. Overall, the room was clean, but some things were in disrepair (exhaust fan and light in bathroom). The food was good, but the kitchen and dining service was lackluster. It was our first time to Richmond, so we didn’t know what to expect, the neighborhood is a mixed bag.

Place was beautiful and historic. Nice grounds, walkable to winery and restaurant. Nice breakfast. Had to rely on front desk for ice. No fridge in room. Microwave was downstairs. Rooms were not well insulated for sound. Could hear loud occupants in adjacent room late at night.
