Never again
I'm not demanding when it comes to a hotel at this rate, but this one just doesn't even cut it. The room I got was moldy, stinky, and very run down. The restroom smelled foul since the drain was right there. The ceiling in the room had wet stains all over; the phone didn't work (not that I needed it, but still); wires were run on the wall as if a beginner electrician had done the job; the staff was very rude (and yes, I'm fluent in Spanish so I could easily communicate with them); even though my booking included (and I paid for) breakfast, I was denied it the first few days since the restaurant and hotel people (same owner) hadn't worked out how to deal with charge back or something weird. One person told me the hotel and the restaurant staff didn't get along while another person simply told me "sorry, we don't include breakfast anymore." On the 3rd day, I went to the restaurant and was actually given breakfast without a problem. It was someone else at that time. It just seemed like people only bickered with each other and didn't communicate with one another or cared about their customers' needs. I demanded to talk to the owner but every time I was told he'd be there, he never showed up and had an excuse. I stayed in Panama for a week, but fortunately, I didn't book the hotel for the entire week - lucky me!

Hotel staff not very pleasant or helpful. Service in restaurant fair. Breakfast service and quality not very satisfactory. Infrastructure in need of some repair e.g. toilet tanks, door locks, bathroom enclosure. Neighborhood and location very good. Access to places of interest, transport excellent.

Very Bad
I am in Panama for 4 days for school. This hotel is very bad the staff is very good. The bath room my toilet seat cover is on the ground. The shower is not clean; I am going to tell you that I won’t back my money. No, what I need is this sends someone to check the hotels before you book them because what happen to me is not go. Never again

Never again
I was looking for something super-simple. A bed where I could crash onto after a day enjoying the city. The price of Covadonga attracted me. My first impression when I got there was scary: the police car was blocking the street, transvestites were screaming and a couple of ''soldiers'' (dressed like that) were hanging rifles. I thought to myself ''today is not my lucky day''. When I got to the hotel reception I was sure of that! the lady was nice with me, saying that she did not recommend me to go out after 6PM. I was starving... she escorted me two buildings away, in order to let me into the Cassino (through the emergency exit) to go to the restaurants area. I was a nightmare. everyday it was the same. They have pigeons living under each hotel room... and they can be very noisy at early mornings. I slept dressed the way I was. The sheets were disgusting.

Definitely Not Impressed
The hotel did not feel safe. Most of the advertised features do not exist. There is no private beach, no in-room safe etc. The location is rundown and seedy. The shower was a hosepipe sticking out of the wall, with only cold water. The window looked out at the next room from behind bars. Only the breakfast was reasonable.

For staying in Panama City, this was a cozy place compared to staying in a hostel. You get a nice bathroom with a shower and sink. A TV with many channels and a clean bed to sleep in. The ladies were very nice who work there. My only complaint wod be the neighborhood scene, kind of sketchy with a lot of "women looking for entertainment " but other than that we felt safe. There is a great 24 hour restaurant two blocks away that had great food and great service, I highly recommend it.

Beware
The hotel is in two parts, one is "by the hour". The neighborhood after dark is crawling with prostitutes. The staff speak only Spanish, with one exception. As a result three days in a row without a towel. One day they even removed the clean extra towel from the room. Air conditioning kept breaking down, and getting it fixed with limited Spanish was hard. No laundry facilities. Restaurant is fine if simple.

OK for the low paid
Hotels are expensive in Panama City. Receptionist was good and check-in quite quick. Breakfast is nice though not a buffet. The restaurent appears to be popular with lot of locals. The air-conditioner worked well but it was quite noisy one. The room did not have a chair/stool but it was clean and so also the toilet with hot water. TV was fine. It costed me $25 for a taxi arranged by the hotel to the airport. But there are also cheaper public buses to the airport. Locally taxis are cheap in this city. Helpful front desk staff - one spoke fluent English at the night time when I checked in(quite helpful person indeed!) and the other person the next day did not know any English but we managed to communicate and I had a taxi quickly. The hotel is in city centre.

Small rooms, bad neighborhood and unkind
This is, I think, the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Among the things they offer and does not exist: no private beach (impossible they’re in the middle of the city); therefore no ocean o water view; no buffet, although there is a complimentary “a la carte” menu. In addition the people in the front desk were unhelpful and not kind of all, with exception of the owners who arrived only at nights. The rooms are really small and the beds unconformable and small for two persons. The air conditioning in our room worked okay. The room wasn’t cleaned for the second day. The neighborhood looked unsafe, and was unsafe, so we were told, though is centric and fair close to the malls and other attractions. Too much thins to put up with for a low rate!!

Inexpensive but value for the money
This a family owned establishment and for the money we spent we got full value for it. The owner was extremely cooperative when we asked for other rooms to be shown. One person who made the difference is Mary Damaris Rodriguez, in the restaurant, who found solutions to all our local problems.. We did have a pleasant stay of 4 days. I would recommend this hotel

cheap and convenient
This is not a hotel for lounging around and relaxing. The room are very sparse with tile floors, but a decent air conditioner. If your trip is all about exploring Panama City and only needing a place to sleep, this is the hotel for you. The internet was surprising fast and the staff was very, very helpful and courteous.

Hotel Covadonga-just basic hotel
I found the hotel room adequate for a quick overnight stay when you are exhauasted from travel. The room was pretty bare bone but not completely uncomfortable. It did have a TV but no shampoo in the bathroom. The cooler was a window unit so it worked fine but had the ususal noise. Hotel and restaurant personel do not speck English and do not go out of their way to provide any service. Room was clean and even on a Friday night the hotel was quiet. It is on a side street but I got a taxis easily.

The hotel feels nice and cozy. Breakfast is included. Room was nice and clean. theres a swimming pool on the roof top. Theres also a restaurant on site. The hotel staft are nice and friendly. They have a driver, if you call the hotel they can pick you up at the airport and he can also take you places for an xtra charge. There is a casino on the same block.Internet cafe and a pizza Italian restaurant across the street (the food there is great). The best food we had was at the Albrook mall. The neigborhood does not look apealing but we where there for three days, speak the language and the stay was nice. I did not like the sorounding area. looks poor and unsafe. I would not recomend this hotel to others.
