Mold , dirty, bad customer service. Known fumes in room reserved. Was told last customer immediately left. Room 254 double king room. People smoking at entrance doors. Fluid stains on sofa ( white and oramge) .Hallways reeked of urine..Nothing offered to compensate. Photos on websites are not updated photos and are misleading. Should've spent the 500 for a reputable hotel chain.

It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left to head up. The bath house was not private. One of the doors could not lock due to the door jam being broken. The soap dispenser dispensed little to no soap. I would not recommend staying at the Birds Neat in the winter if you need use of the upstairs for children. they will be cold. The beds upstairs are pretty much useless unless you’re a single sleeper. The other two singles are set up for young children who are still in danger of falling out of bed. The beds have boards on the sides that keep a person from rolling off.
