Tammy, the assistant inn keeper and restaurant manager was fantastic. She was attentive to every need. The restaurant staff was phenomenal as well highly recommend, it’s a little hidden gem off the beaten path. I will definitely return. Had a fabulous time.

The property is certainly unique, but you have to know certain things before booking. It’s run more like an Air abnb than a hotel. There’s no formal check-in or check-out process. If you arrive before 5 PM the restaurant will be closed and there will be no one to assist you or answer any questions. There are only three rooms total and they’re all located upstairs above the restaurant. If you can’t get your own bags up the outdoor staircase this may not be the place for you. An access code gets you into the vestibule that houses the three rooms. There’s a funky key system for the rooms as well. All that being said it’s a hidden oasis down a dirt path smack in the middle of Bolton Landing. The room we had was spacious and well appointed, as was the bathroom with huge walk-in shower. Excellent water pressure as well, always a welcome treat. Although there are more dramatic views of the mountains and the lake from other vantage points, it feels very serene and tucked away. An added treat is the restaurant Chateau on the Lake. Fine dining with wonderful food, wine list, ambiance and staff—without the stuffiness.

This was a very poor experience. We had no water for shower, and no water in kitchen sink. We checked in late at night, got up to take showers, and weren't able to do so because there was no water. We'd rented the cabin to go to a wedding and weekend events. Checked out an hour before checkout time to get to the event--unshowered-- and called the host, who didn't pick up. Left a message reporting the problem, and then we were told that we should have spoke to him to have him fix the problem before we checked out. I asked if he thought we should miss the event to wait for him to call back re: the water? Host Offered a $50 rebate and said it wan't his problem that our timeframe didn't work with the time of when we let him know, then the host went on to say he didn't have to offer a refund and got very personal about what should be a professional, business transaction. Host that I was "absolutely disrespectful."..he's "at a loss with how humanity has become and not sure how some people sleep at night. Please never come back to our establishment. ..You're not the kind of customer we want to welcome back." I have NEVER written a negative review of a rental, and have a positive track record for giving positive, gracious reviews. I do not recommend this place to fellow travelers.

This is a secret Hidaway. Don't judge a book by its cover. Very cozy, roomy cottage. We were a family of 4 and there was more than enough room. Communication was amazing and is what made our stay easy! Perfect distance to Mount Sunapee.

The room was very clean and our bathroom was amazing! You cannot have food in your room and there isn’t a tv or anything in there. I didn’t see any staff at the place. It wasn’t explained to me how to get into the place very well at all so it took us a few minutes to figure it out and we felt kind of foolish. It was fine if you just wanted a place to sleep for the night but we probably wouldn’t go back.
