We stayed one night to break up our 18 hours of flight time between Munich & Portland, OR. Despite it being priced well above others in the area, I chose this hotel for its close proximity to the airport, “easy 24 hour shuttle,” supposed “full service restaurant and bar with room service,” & because it looked so nice in photos. When we arrived in Charlotte, I called the hotel while waiting in customs to request the shuttle. I was told to call back when we were ready for pick up outside as the hotel is only “a few minutes away.” I called back (approx 215pm) to ONLY THEN be told we needed to go to pick up area “one” (the opposite direction of where we went hauling SIX PIECES OF LUGGAGE) & that the shuttle would be there by 235! (20 minutes later even though the hotel is only a 5 min. drive.) At 245, the shuttle pulled up about 50’ from us. We gathered our bags & navigated the crowd as quick as possible but by the time we got close to it (MAYBE 2 minutes), the driver began to pull away!!! He never even got out! We tried to flag him down but he was gone. We called the hotel immediately, a woman said she would call the driver & tell him to come back. By 330, he still wasn’t there. We called again, no one answered. Just as I called an uber, the shuttle returned over an hour after arriving at 345. The room & hallway smelled (floor 5) like a mix of mold & urine. The building is run down. Bed is terrible hard. Room service was outsourced. Breakfast buffet vs menu dining as advertised

Nice but walls paper thin so stuck listening to other guests all night and traffic.
