I liked the kitchenette with a regular refrigerator so I could freeze my ice packs for my cooler. The room was clean and the bathroom was accessible for my husband who has mobility issues. The bed on the other hand is not what I would expect in a mobility accessible room. The bed needs to be a little higher and firmer to make it easier to get up from. Other than that it was a very nice room

First room we were brought to it was being lived in by someone. Second room had blood on the walls and door and holes in the wall. Third room was ok but a hole in the wall but sheet weren't clean after further looking. 4th room was cleaned the best but sheets had blood on them and hair. We ended up leaving after about 2 hours, we ended up just driving the 3 hours home. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Really wish I could get a refund for the 2 rooms because we didnt even stay. Horrible. Place also smelled of cigarettes and Marijuana. Lock was also broken on one of our rooms and windows didnt lock.

I was disappointed with my stay at Stoney Creek Hotel in Johnston, Iowa. After checking in, I asked the front desk for extra blankets. The employee told me housekeeping would bring them to my room. Three hours later, I called again because nothing had arrived. I was once again told that housekeeping would be contacted, but I never received the blankets until after about 5 hours when I called again The bed was also very uncomfortable, with a large divot in the middle that made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Another concern was that my room door did not latch properly unless it was pushed or pulled with significant force. I didn't realize this until the second day, meaning my room may not have been fully secured whenever I left. That was a serious safety concern. Overall, I expected better service, a more comfortable room, and a properly functioning door. Unfortunately, these issues made for a disappointing experience, and I hope the hotel addresses them for future guests.

The lobby was nice and the desk clerk friendly. The elevator got stuck on the way up to 3rd floor. The carpet and sheets were damp. The air conditioner was old and set to heat when we arrived. Maybe that had something to do with the damp room? There was no soap on the tiny bathroom vanity and the dispenser at the sink was body lotion. To get soap I had to use the shower gel in the bathtub. But the toilet paper and tissue were shaped in nice shapes - so that was a cute touch. It was late and we were tired so we just went to bed so we never gave them a chance to move us - Hampton Inn in general has been a disappointment to us. On a 8-night trip - maybe 4 were 3 stars - very disappointing.
