Rooms were cramped with many stains on the carpets, and smelled old and musty despite being a newer hotel. Despite emailing the hotel many times to confirm the breakfast buffet would be able to accommodate our dietary restrictions and allergies, and receiving confirmation it would, when we arrived we found there were no options available for gluten free or lactose free at the breakfast buffet which we paid for in advance. Food and beverages were constantly running out during breakfast which became an ongoing joke amongst the guests, and the hotel was understaffed meaning people had to wait a long time for food. The outdoor garden was a nice feature, however on multiple occasions it was booked for private events so it was unavailable to guests. It felt like they were still figuring out the operations.

This place is beautiful. They put a lot of thought into all the details. A true boutique feel. I would absolutely stay again. It is walking distance to King’s Cross Station and the surrounding area is delightful. The only reason I docked it a star is due to the check in process. I booked the place about 48 hours before arrival. They reached out through Expedia asking the time I expected to arrive and they advised I needed to fill a form out. I replied with my arrival time and I advised them the form wouldn’t open correctly (I am a tech capable individual). I did not hear back prior to the day of check in. I understand I had a short booking turn around time, but it shouldn’t have been an option if it would be too much to accommodate. I arrived on check in day a bit early with my luggage just wanting to ask if they could hold it until my room was ready. They did agree to do so, but they looked incredibly put out and acted as if I was really bothering them. I had replied asap on Expedia and had done everything they asked me to that I could. The service could have been friendlier over all. I also don’t perceive this was a cultural difference thing.

I stayed here a few years ago and my room at the time was much much larger and more impressive. I was so excited to stay here again, and have recommended page8 to numerous people looking for London hotels since then based on my last experience here. However, our room this time, which I had thought was the same room type, was about half the size, and such a let down for the price. However, the hotel was clean and fairly updated, which are the two most important factors to me while traveling. Just wish our room was the incredible layout I remembered. Would go to a different hotel for the price next time if I were to get this same room again. I couldn’t imagine spending more than I did this time, so really puzzling how I lucked out with such a big and nice space when I stayed here in 2022 or 2023.

Great location, clean rooms. However, as the hotel is located above a pub it is noisy and hard to sleep on Friday and Saturday nights. We could hear the pounding music which made it hard to sleep. There is no hotel common area or prescription area….. price reflects what you get.
