The location is just beautiful, especially with the fall foliage. I stayed at this property before and loved everything about it, but we were in a room right on the lake. This time we rented a "condo" unit, and while the bedroom was perfect, there were cobwebs covering the door and in the living room, a ladybug infestation and a wornout mattress on the sofabed. They gave us a new mattress the 2nd night, but should never have had a such a worn out mattress in the first place. They gave us a dustbuster to clean up the cobwebs and ladybugs in the living room. I understand that ladybugs are harmless and hard to control, but it seemed like they were living in the ceiling molding- they continued to appear the whole time we were there. Possibly it was just our unit, as I met some other guests who said they had no problems, and I did notice (when the sun finally came out) that the doors to the other units on our floor did not seem to be a lot cleaner and not covered in cobwebs. And also vacant! My fault for not insisting on a room change. 😒 I will continue to stay at this hotel, but only in one of the lakefront rooms.

Beautiful setting on Lake George. I chose The Chateau because I was going to a conference at Sagamore Resort. The Chateau is less expensive and a short 5 minute drive away. The room is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. The gas 'fireplace' was very cozy. I used the iron and ironing board. I appreciated the complimentary sparkling water. I wish the privacy blinds on the French doors were on the inside of the room because the balcony is shared with another room. (Another guest could potentially open the blinds and peer into this room.) The summer season was over in October during my stay. The staffing shortages meant I could not reach anybody by phone or website chat before my stay even though I left voicemail and my personal email. Everything worked out ok and I was able to 'check in' myself.

I can show pictures of the unit that was very different than described. I paid extra for a Mountain View for 3 nights - and it was not Mountain View. We were in a different building at the bottom of the hill a 8 min freeezing cold and icy walk to the pool area.

Tous était parfait , seulement il avait pas d’eau chaud .

Beautiful resort with amazing beds! Very comfortable.

Our room was large and comfortable, with a large, well-supplied bathroom. The fellow at the front desk was friendly and helpful. It feels like a very nice rural country inn. There isn't a lot else there, as there aren't 24-hour onsite staff or a fitness room or many other lobby amenities. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at The Landgrove! The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home. It's a truly family-friendly place with a warm, personal touch that makes all the difference. The interiors are beautiful, cozy, and full of character, the food is delicious, and the fireplace in our room was absolutely amazing! Such a charming and special place. We would love to come back!
