The hotel is unmanned. I was sent the room number and the code to unlock the door. The code worked on the first try but instead of a clean room I found a room clearly lived in with belongings strewn about like a crime scene. I closed the door and asked one of the other residents whether they knew how to get in touch with the property manager. I was told that they “hang out” down the street at the Quality Inn because they own that one too, and also that there was no safe water - that it was brown. So we drove to the Quality Inn and waited for a long time while the attendant was on the phone with a customer doing a booking. I explained the situation to her and she blamed the system for sending me the wrong room information. We finally made it to the room (late enough to miss the pizza we wanted to have for dinner). It was clean enough but it wasn’t a nice room. Things were stored in all the wrong places (if you ran out of toilet paper, there wasn’t any in the room where the toilet was, for example). We were of course worried about someone walking in on us because they are not able to securely transmit the correct room information to guests, so we kept the room deadbolted. The weirdest thing was that the bathroom door didn’t close. I don’t mean it didn’t close a little. It was open at an angle of 45° and would close any further. This is obviously not optimal.

This was our second time staying at Grandview. Great property, good cabins, staff is friendly. Can’t wait to go back and stay again!

This property should not be used until it has updates. The electrical system is very old, plugs won’t stay in, you have to unplug items to not trip a circuit and I felt unsafe. The heating wall gas heating unit did not function and I was very happy to see CO monitors in place. This unit looked like it was from the 40’s. The paint is chipped, there are large chunks of wood missing and an all of the faucets dripped water. This was not the unit I chose at booking but was given to us due to repairs on the original unit. The office, staff and restaurant were outstanding.

The cabin was so cute and cozy and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever stayed on and all the amenities were a great bonus
