For a four star hotel... the pool in particular was run down. There are traffic cones around the pool deck, spots where the tiles in the pool are chipped, and the handrail into the hot tub is wobbly. On the bright side, the bed was super comfy, and I enjoyed doing the yoga on the beach that is included in the resort fee.

Great property great hotel. You have to pay literally for everything even to tan. It’s open to public so people who are not the guest of the hotel are everywhere. Food is very mid you can find better food in the city. Great place for vibes

Only negative was no air conditioning. Fans helped some but sleeping was a bit warm. Otherwise great place.

Amazing hotel almost like in White Lotus. We greatly enjoyed the lagoon. Hawaiian performances in the lobby throughout the day. Poipu beach has many turtles at sun set.

SOOOOO loud. I could hear everything upstairs, outside, and next door. I literally heard the lady next door battling her hiccups. Worst sleep of our family’s life. When anyone in the complex uses the bathroom it’s so loud it sounds like a waterfall is in our room. Good location, but don’t do it. There was hair in the tub, in the beds - gross! AND the bathtub was clogged so it just puddled in the tub while you shower.

Grounds and room were clean and beautiful. The only thing I did not like was the towel exchange was only allowed one time for 7 days. And no room cleaning unless you stay for more than 7 days. For the price I feel you should at least get more than one set of towels, and a cleaning for a week’s stay. But other than that, it was great.

Our stay at Hanalei Colony Resort was nothing short of exceptional—an easy 10/10! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a truly special place. If you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and the authentic beauty of Kauai, this is it. The location is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the lush mountains, listening to the waves, and enjoying the cool trade winds made every day feel like paradise. The climate was perfect for us—comfortable temperatures, fresh ocean breezes, and just enough tropical rain to keep everything incredibly green and beautiful. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Every interaction made us feel like valued guests, and their hospitality added so much to our experience. We completely fell in love with Hanalei and the North Shore. The slower pace of life, stunning scenery, amazing food, and friendly people made it incredibly difficult to leave. It was exactly the kind of relaxing vacation we had hoped for. Hanalei Colony Resort provided the perfect escape from busy everyday life. Whether we were enjoying the views from our lanai, exploring the area, or simply unwinding, every moment felt peaceful and rejuvenating. We are already planning our return trip next year. Thank you to everyone at Hanalei Colony Resort for making our vacation so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!
