When I first got there, they told me they had canceled my reservations because they over booked too many rooms. After a while, and a call to the manager, they finally got me a room. Not the room I had booked. I had booked them no smoking with a king size bed. The whole room smelled like an ashtray along with the hallways in the motel. there was pizza crust on the floor in the hallway across from my room entrance. When I first got to the room, it was standing wide. Open door was not closed. And in checking the bathroom there was no towels in the room. Refrigerator in the room did not work. Definitely my last time at this location.

**They kept my money for a stay I never had** I booked a room here but had to cancel because my travel plans unexpectedly changed. Hotels.com contacted the hotel on my behalf to request a refund, but management flatly refused. I understand that cancellation policies exist. I also understand that a business can choose to exercise basic decency—especially when the hotel was overflowing with customers. They kept my entire payment for a room I never used and a service they never provided. What makes this especially rotten is that it was not an inability to help; it was a deliberate decision not to. They could have shown even the slightest understanding. Instead, they hid behind their policy and pocketed my money. That tells me everything I need to know about how this hotel treats customers once it has their credit-card information. I would never book here again, and I strongly advise others not to risk giving this property their money.

We loved the Black Hawk Hotel! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. The location was excellent as, allowing us to walk to great restaurants, shops, and bars. We will be back!

The daily breakfast was always on point and fully stocked. Staff was great, rooms clean and one of the best stays I've had.
