Well the lady that works in the bar and breakfast was great, and bearing in mind that I only paid 45 pounds for the room with breakfast, my expectations were low. And I got what I paid for.... A beering night with a pal, so only needed a bed, it was fine.

Clean room, but wonder how warm it will be in Winter as only single glazing. Staff very good. Breakfast was good, but standard coffee served was only just passable. I think you could pay extra and get a ‘proper’ coffee though!

We had a great stay at the priory, room was a perfect size, I enjoyed a soak in the beautiful claw foot bath. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again

Our room was clean but rather gloomy. The old furniture was oppressive and the TV could have been fixed to the wall and a more practical chest of drawers to replace the table it occupied. The bed was in need of a new mattress but the pillows were decent and the crisp white bedding was nice to climb into. The shower room was huge, with a good shower unit. However the hot water from the sink tap seems to originate in Bristol, it took so long to arrive. We ate in the restaurant and the food was hot and tasty. We had a steak special which was excellent value. The staff are cheerful and polite and ready to offer help. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious with plenty of choices on the menu. Parking on site is tight and the entrance might prove tricky for 4x4's and wide cars. Good value for money as a stopover.

We really enjoyed our stay at The George. It was authentic, absolutely clean as a whistle and the staff were incredibly helpful and nice. It is an authentic old inn so there were some creaky floors but it fine for us. The staff and the food were amazing. I would stay here again.
