I had an upgrade from a standard double to a suite. Which was nice. But an upgrade cannot compensate for the horrors of the Dorsett Shepherd's Bush. This hotel used to be immaculate, but now it's tired and rough around the edges. Scuff marks on the walls, doors with chunks missing, and improvements made to the facilities which have been poorly executed by the former standards of this hotel. But there's worse. Much worse. One of my abiding memories of stayed at the Dorsett was the delicious scent which it you as you walked through the grand revolving doors. The doors no longer revolve and when you enter, the stench of the sewers hits your nose hard. The plumbing here is a huge problem, and it pervades the whole place, from the lobby to the lifts and even the 8th floor suites. This is not the fault of the staff on duty, but an upkeep and maintenance issue which shows how little investment the hotel is getting. I won't be staying again. This experience was the last time I'll be visiting until this issue is fixed permanently.

The images don’t represent this apartment. The apartment in reality appears to be like the one in the photos, but with true AI filter. Extensive use of gross polyester blankets were used to cover the gross furniture. This host ruined the first day of our trip with their deceitful tactics. This place was so below our standard and so far from what we expected, and was so gross that we desperately searched for alternative accommodations immediately after walking into the room, thankfully finding some availability at a nearby Marriott. The onsite person was kind enough, but completely unhelpful and gave me the number to a manager that I have attempted to contact via WhatsApp and through the Expedia messaging, all to no avail. 5 days later and I’m yet to hear from this scammer. I’m highly disappointed in Expedia for not having better vetting and very disappointed that Expedia has not clear way to remediate this. I’m reconsidering my Expedia use. I’m a Gold member and have extensive travel experience and I have never had such a terrible experience. Be very cautious with any of these apartment bookings, especially in London. Expedia is almost useless and apparently some of the people that rent out these apartments are not decent humans. Great societies are built on trust, these types of tactics erode trust. My advice: don’t chance it.

It was an OK stay. We stayed on the 13th floor. Only 2 of the 4 elevators go to the 13th floor which meant a wait of up to 5 minutes for the elevator. The little coffee shop staff were abrupt and not all that friendly. The bathroom has no electrical outlets so plugging in a hairdryer or straightener was made difficult. We brought an extension cord with us ( past travel experience) but had we not it would have been challenging. If you want a black cab for dinner, be sure to download their app as the front desk staff were not helpful in getting us a taxi. We heard that the hotel was taken over by RIU in the past 3 months. Still working out the hospitality kinks.
