In 1725 the castle was purchased by Prince Eugene of Savoy . It received its present appearance under Maria Theresia around 1765 by the court architect Nikolaus Pacassi . The paintings of the Festaal are by Jean-Baptiste Pillement . From 1945 onwards there was an increasing decline of the castle. Since 1980, it has been restored and now serves as an exhibition and venue. In 2016 Schloss Niederweiden, for example, will be one of four locations of the exhibition on the centenary of the death of Emperor Franz Joseph . In the former Lustschlösschen of the Habsburgs exhibition shows on hunting and leisure are shown in the special show. Approx 5 minute walk to underground station and then only 10 minutes into the centre of Vienna. Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff very helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was to a good standard. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Plaza.

AC Hotel by Marriott Bratislava Old Town
Stayed for a few days over New Year. Hotel was just a little walk away from the main square and castle. The room was spotless, bed was comfy and all other areas of the Hotel were of a high standard. The only negative was the breakfast was rather expensive at €24 each.
