Front desk was manned by a very disinterested and unpleasant woman, told me I had to pay a $50 a night deposit. I have never in my life been asked to pay anything like this. I wasn’t informed prior to making this reservation, if I had been I would have looked elsewhere. Breakfast was supposed to be “7-9”. I also assumed that meant there would be food to choose from through 9:00. I suggest if you’re hungry you should get there early. Even having said that it wasn’t much of a breakfast.

Such a great place in fact it was so nice I stayed a few more nights, the casino is amazing

I travel to So. Illinois annually to visit but this is my first stay at the Makanda Inn. It will not be my last. I had a very peaceful stay- after long days of family visit and running around with the grands, it was so nice to stay here where it was quiet and relaxing. Breakfast every morning was top notch and just the right portions.

Room was clean staff was very helpful and the French toast was delicious.
