The grounds and the activities were great, but the reason I gave the Abbey only three stars was because of the horrible mattresses in the room. They were worn out and had no support. When I laid down, my head and feet were higher than the rest of my body which sunk into the mattress which had no back support whatsoever. The bed mashed down when you sat on the edge. When you stay at a hotel, you look forward to having a good night’s sleep to enjoy the next day. That definitely didn’t happen at this hotel. They need to invest some money and replace all the mattresses in the rooms, especially considering how much they charge per night.

The room was artfully appointed and we made good use of the record player! The lobby bar with live music and the art galleries added unique and fun spaces to relax and explore.

The property was beautiful, well maintained and the rooms were excellent. Comfortable beds and pillows. Due to plumbing issues the water park was out of service. That would be my only complaint.

The picture of the room on Expedia is not the room. A signature room on Expedia has a picture of a soaking tub. I got to my room and there was a pile of sheets in the floor in front of my door. I saw that there was no tub so I called guest services. The woman on the line told me that they can’t help me—that I have go back down (15 floors) to the lobby to get to the front desk. I asked her to transfer me and she told me that it wasn’t an option. I went back down to the desk only to learn that they couldn’t change my room because I booked through Expedia. My room smelled like smoke so I sent a message through the maintenance app since that’s the only app with a comment area and guest services wasn’t helping. I told them that I signed an agreement to not smoke in the room or I’d be fined $250. Maintenance came to the room with air freshener. Like what? Room service took nearly an hour. When I contact guest services again, they told me that the couldn’t transfer me to in-room dining and that the room service is closed on Monday. This was after I had already placed my order on the tablet in the room and they sent me a receipt. About 3 mins later my food came. The left hand did not know what the right hand was doing. They had me download the hotel app-asked what the occasion was (my anniversary) and even asked that we upload pics so that they can recognize us. No one did. Not one special moment or happy anniversary from anyone. In room dining was gross and more. Word limit reached
