The staff were friendly but unfortunately the impression I got from them is that the hotel ownership does not care to make things right when problems arise. We stayed in the 3 bedroom 2.5 bath apartment for 4 nights and on the 3rd night we noticed hot water was running out. No biggie since we were all able to shower except the last person. The 4th evening and night we had no hot water, and this persisted into the morning of our checkout. As per the staff, the ownership offered no compensation for the inconvenience of not being able to shower on our evening / morning and also not being able to do laundry. I had contacted the hotel staff about the hot water in the evening of our 4th night but there was no one available to help us out. I didn't get a response from them until around 9am the next morning which was too late as we were already preparing to check out. At $1500/night this was completely unacceptable but no recourse was provided. The rest of the stay was okay, but definitely not worth $1500/night. The rooms need repainting and the bathroom showers have tons of mold and mildew in the grout between tiles on the wall.

The property itself is nice and luxurious yet very comfortable. The staff are kind and attentive. The views are unique.

El Hotel en sí es un clásico, buena atención, un hotel bonito y muy bien ubicado, pero en general en condiciones regulares, le falta mucho mantenimiento a los muebles, LOS CUARTOS NO TIENEN AIRE ACONDICIONADO (Dicen que sólo el 6to piso tiene), y en verano hace mucho calor. No debería ser 5 estrellas.

The hotel is right by the station which is very handy for a multi centre holiday and it is very central for everything you may want to do in Bern. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The roof terrace is beautiful and the rooms are really well equipped really comfy beds and brilliant showers. We didn’t eat at the restaurant so can’t comment on that, breakfast was 40 chf per head which seemed a lot so we used local cafes instead. There was also a 200 chf deposit per night … we were there 3 nights and had 2 rooms so 1200 chf and that was unexpected and seemed steep but it was returned within a couple of days of us leaving- something to be prepared for from a cashflow point of view.

The AC was chugging along barely otherwise things worked well.

Exceptional across the board with one small caveat. Excellent location, spotlessly clean, reasonably priced, safe neighborhood, and very helpful staff. My room was small but exactly what I needed: a comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, and adequate air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and included in the price. I also loved the rooftop seating area for sunsets and people-watching. Other nice touches: washer/dryer (7 CHF), restaurant next door, small fitness room, 24-hour self-service coffee, elevators, and in-room safes. My only complaint was check-in. I arrived around 1:20 p.m. after roughly 16 hours of travel and was firmly told I could not have my room until the 3:00 p.m. check-in time. I waited in the lobby for about an hour before asking a different front desk employee, who immediately said, “Of course, your room is ready,” and checked me in. I completely understand guaranteeing rooms by 3:00 p.m., but if a room is already cleaned and available, allowing an exhausted traveler to check in early is simply good hospitality. That first interaction left me wondering what kind of experience I was in for. Thankfully, that concern disappeared quickly. Every staff member I dealt with afterward was outstanding, and the rest of my stay was excellent. I would happily stay here again.
