La Hacienda Inn near the Alamodome is a budget hotel designed for cost-conscious travelers. Low nightly rates and proximity to central event venues over luxury amenities. Small parking lot but the room was clean and comfortable. Close proximity to the Riverwalk and Alamodome. The staff is helpful and friendly.

On my first day as soon as I checked in a dog was continuously barking to the point I had to report it. Same day at 3:00AM a fire alarm was blaring asking everyone to evacuate the hotel. I was on the ninth floor! When we got to the third floor the stairs were blocked and no instructions as to how to proceed, so we had to reenter the floor and use another exit. All that to be told it was a false alarm. The lack of security and safety was non existent. My room had a connecting door and the noise from kids left me sleepless another night. I do not recommend this hotel, besides that the valet parking is $69.00 per day. Hotel didn’t even comp a drink for the fire alarm chaos.

The property is well-maintained, but the rooms could use some help. I stayed in the property for 4 nights and my bed linen was not changed at all. The toilet had stains in it. Housekeeping did the very minimum in my room each day. My bed was not made well at all and they left the accent pillow on the other bed instead of making the room look uniformed. After some long days it was the least that I would have wanted. The receptionist chose how helpful she was going to be upon check-in. I overheard her telling other guest more information. My colleagues who checked in received more information (basic) than I did for instances how to get on the internet. I would stay there again because of the location and only hope that housekeeping will be better the next time.
