Clean comfortable room, nice staff, but no swimming pool or breakfast

I was quite disappointed in our stay. I have heard such amazing things about the Townsend. So my husband I decided to stay here for our anniversary. The bed was so insanely uncomfortable and felt like sleeping on a hard wood surface, except for the huge dip in the bed made me realize it wasn’t wood. The Bose radio station was super dusty, as was the remote. It didn’t work anyway. The pillows were super flat and uncomfortable. For a hotel like the Townsend, I really expected plush comfy beds and pillows. I don’t think I’d ever stay here again!

As ever, staff are wonderful, accomdations are wonderful everything us great. All good, Elevators could use a bit of a clean, if I have to nitpick

Close to highway. Clean and well maintained. Our Deluxe King room was on the 4th floor (road side). The bathroom had a European shower that took a bit to figure out before coffee, but easy enough once that hurdle cleared - choice of handheld shower, rainfall, wall nozzles. The bathroom is Bluetooth enabled for your own music. There’s a heated toilet seat and bidet too. One odd thing is that the clothes closet is in the bathroom. The mini fridge in the bedroom was handy, though we would have liked to have a microwave too. Lovely wicker type chair with matching ottoman, as well as a fabric upholstered desk chair in the room. Staff friendly and helpful. Easy check-in/check out. Free onsite parking.

Good overall experience staying at hotel

The owner is really helpful and considerate. You can tell they are updating as they're newer owners but everything was clean and worked in the room. Unfortunately the pool wasn't working but that wasn't what we came to do anyway. Would definitely come back.

Charged by Expedia and by hotel. Hotel claimed they didn’t see it on their end. 5 days later still waiting for a refund. Hotel is nice. Staffing not sure much.

As soon as we walked into this hotel, the saxophone started ringing. Check-in was at four. We came in early to see if we can get an early check-in. She said be back in an hour and then that would be OK when we return. They said that there was no early check-in. So we waited till four. There was a bunch of people in the lobby. I’m talking like 30 people or more. At 4 o’clock they persisted to say that we still could not check in because I had to clean the rooms. Mind you we had a concert to be too at 7 o’clock. Finally got our room key went upstairs to the room, and it was not clean at all no bedsheets Hair dirt. The mattress was literally green. They accommodated us in a different room that one wasn’t great. TV didn’t work, but whatever we were there. However, the property cleaning manager, she was very nice and she helped us out a lot. Oh and if you’re trying to figure out where it is, there’s just a banner for a sign. I highly recommend that you do not stay at this hotel.
