Lovely hotel, well kept gardens, large room, friendly staff. Only downside was shower was a little poor

This is an unpretentious hotel with rather small bedrooms. Breakfast was fine and the staff very helpful. Not at all expensive, so good for budget travellers.

Got very disappointed really in our stay this weekend as last time we came to the hotel it was a good standard and the staff of good standard. What we found this weekend was very little customer service when it came to Staff especially in the restaurant as it’s not how the hotel du vin used to be. I don’t know what has changed. I think it was obvious that the staff were of lower paygrade and weren’t trained enough to efficiently provide the service that you would expect from a hotel du vin brand having frequented them for many many years since they first started. There was no presence of any manager in charge. Breakfast we asked a young man for another pot of tea and he really didn’t understand that concept just told us to go and help ourselves to tea from a machine! Breakfast took about 25 minutes to arrive ! All in all not a good experience for us anymore .
