Housekeeping doesnt come during your stay. Didnt like that. Restaurant and tiki bar close wayyy too early. Our room was decent. Needed some work. Good place but wont stay again

The new updates to the rooms are honestly the best I’ve ever stayed at in Myrtle Beach. The balcony views of the ocean were just what my soul needed. Very clean, and smelled brand new. However, the smell of weed greeted me at the door and permeated the room throughout my time, which really didn’t bother me, but some may not appreciate it. Wonderful pool and hot tub, and literally steps to the beach. THIS IS A NO PET MOTEL. I have a small Maltese that is my service dog, and I packed in a hurry and did not bring his paperwork and it was too hot for his vest. When I arrived, I was told since I didn’t have paperwork that I could not stay and would not be refunded. I even showed pics with him with his vest on. I began to have a panic attack, because I drove three hours alone, and I’m disabled. The receptionist was pleasant about it, but the rules are you must show paperwork. Finally, she said I could pay a pet fee of $250, which I did not have. However, I was able to borrow and decided I had no choice. I could have stayed two extra nights for that $250. I’ve never had this issue before, and must say it really messed up my stay, due to having an anxiety attack at where I was going to stay, bc I did not have energy to drive back home, due to being disabled. I showed proof of my Handicap placard and Medicare card, but they wanted paperwork. So please, if you are bringing a pet, they will turn you away or charge you. Must bring paperwork if animal is certified ADA!!

We have stayed at Compass Cove many times over the years . As always, the pools, hot tubs, etc were very clean and welcoming . The customer service this trip was terrible . Walking in upon arrival, I felt more like I was bothering the people instead of being welcomed to the facility (this has never happened before). Also, on the last morning of our stay, I called for washcloths at 7:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m, and finally had to walk over in person at 2:00 p.m. to receive them . This in my opinion is unacceptable . Outside of this issue , a person would come by and offer bath towels every evening if needed which was appreciated; but not sure why washcloths was such an issue . We did enjoy dining at Crows Nest and all the staff there were wonderful . I know people have hard days, but i would think a smile and Welcome to Compass Cove when arriving would always be a part of a persons initial interaction upon arrival.

The greatest strength about the Aqua Beach Inn is its location!!! It is right across the street from the Beach and we could see the Sky Wheel from our balcony. My teenager loved sitting on the balcony because there was so much to see. There are great restaurants right in walking distance and the pier is breezy and wonderful! The hotel needs updating: nicks in the cabinets and small rips in the bar stools.
