A/c could have been better but overall a fantastic stay

I booked the Woodcliff Hotel & Spa because I told me it was THE place to stay in the Rochester area. I left wondering what all the hype was about. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, but that’s nature’s work, not the hotel’s. The room was by far the biggest disappointment. It feels decades out of date, especially the bathroom. Nothing about it reflects a four-star hotel. Even the little details, like the cheap coffee and low-quality toiletries or TV, make it clear that this property is cutting corners. The hotel feels like it is living on a reputation it no longer deserves. If it was once considered Rochester’s premier hotel, those days seem long gone. The most disappointing part is that you are paying premium prices for an experience that feels average at best. There are several hotels in the Rochester area that offer more modern rooms, better amenities, and better value for the same price, or even less. I would not stay here again, and I certainly would not recommend it to anyone expecting a luxury or even true four-star experience.

The staff was extremely friendly and catered to any needs we had. One person working the desk went above and beyond for us but I didn't catch her name. The hotel definitely needs a lot of updates. The bath tub was leaking in the room I stayed in. The rooms were just outdated in general.
