Nice city centre hotel with everything walkable.

very clean and quiet, but terrible water pressure and no staff really around at all.

Parking more limited than I realised. Room small but well-appointed. Bathroom newly fitted out and spectacular and modern.

The stay was OK for the money paid for, however all that I am going to mention costs $0 (or almost) to the property and can make a great location in the middle of the Costwolds a great place to stay. Check in was slow for a pre-paid room. Almost no welcome package with sightseeing, we had to ask, only to get a piece of paper with names of towns. Printing a chat GPT guide costs $0 which we got at all of the other hotels we visited. They told us the restaurant / bar closes at 10pm so we came down at 9:05pm wanting to grab a pub dinner and they told us the kitchen closed at 9pm and nothing could be done for 2 recently arrived guests. Let's say nothing could be done as we were technically late, but they could have told us about kitchen closed before the bar. AGAIN $0 - TOTAL disinterest for their guests The only thing it would cost them money to change was their kettle which was chalky white on the inside. Which we showed and they only offered hot water from the pub for our teas. The kettle costs $30 - $50 to replace, but the bad attitude is irreplaceable. Cleaning was not their forte either, I know that takes time and some money, but could be improved overall the property. Check out also took us like 20 minutes as no one was there despite the stay was prepaid. Again the hotel is a nice property, but a management overhaul is needed. I won't stay there again.

Wasn't happy with my room as the room was cut into 2 bedrooms with plasterboard to seperate them but the noise from next door was horrendous and heard all their conversations/tv and worse snoring - woke up 3am to the noise and had to put earplugs in to drown the snoring out

Beautiful hotel, very grand decor, and smells amazing like a spa! Perfect location, right next to the cathedral and good for exploring the city. Very convenient parking underneath the hotel, with a cheaper rate for guests. I’ve seen a few bad reviews on the breakfast, but personally we had no issues, quite a standard hotel buffet breakfast that had everything we would want, no complaints. Served in the Miller and Carter restaurant onsite, very nice. We did have an issue with loud noise, as there were renovations taking place in the hotel during our stay. However, when we spoke to reception about this they were extremely helpful (and friendly and polite), and did everything they could to improve our situation, including moving us to two other rooms. All the rooms we saw during our stay were beautiful, clean, and very good sizes. And the final one was very quiet! Can’t fault the staff, they did everything they could, and must have had more complaints, so were dealing with it very well. It wouldn’t stop us staying at the hotel again, everything else was lovely and very high standard.
